The feature C and Lower 1200m event of the Race of Champions meet billed for Sunday at the Rising Sun Turf Club seems to have three betting favorites, Princess She’s Not, Just Call Me Boss and Storm Bird.

Princess She’s not, once known as the fastest USA bred filly in Guyana returns to track for the big race against Storm Bird, Just Call Me Boss and the undefeated champion in Guyana, Vera’s Finally. Its owner kept his interview very short by saying that “the Princess is returning to retrieve her crown again.”

Just Call Me Boss returned with a bang on Sunday last at Port Mourant with a win. Setting some decent traction on the track for the last 400m its trainer T. Jagdeo says his “horse is fitter than ever at the moment and is going to be at the race of champions this Sunday.” He added that the distance of 1200M rather than the last run at Rising Sun Turf club that was 1600M will be a better distance for his horse this time around.

Storm Bird was also in the winner’s row on Sunday, blowing away its rivals in the 1200M H1 and lower race in a brisk finishing time of 1:10 flat. The time broke her own record of 1:11.5. It has been over seven years since that time was recorded at the venue. Same distance, different tracks, can she do it again? Many say that she will earn the crown this Sunday in the feature event. In four days the answer will be known.
