St. Angela’s and South Ruimveldt were among the outstanding teams when the Smalta Girls U11 football competition commenced yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

St.Angela’s defeated North Georgetown 1-0 through a Nikasi St. Jules strike in the eighth minute. They also edged Redeemer 1-0 with St. Jules scoring in the 15th minute. Meanwhile, South Ruimveldt defeated Stella Maris 1-0 through a Shanera Barker strike in the 23rd minute. South Ruimveldt also humbled West Ruimveldt 3-1 with Fayon Harry bagging a double in the 14th and 30th minute while Kimberly Venerous scored in the seventh minute. On target for West Ruimveldt was Akila Smith in the 31st minute. In other results, West Ruimveldt defeated F.E. Pollard 2-0.

Nalvia Thomas and Smith scored in the 15th and 25th minute respectively while Stella Maris needled F.E. Pollard 1-0 with Keanna Laurence netting in the 25th minute. Tucville gained walkovers from Enterprise and Sophia while St. Pius also won by walkovers against Sophia and Enterprise and North Georgetown gained a walkover from School of the Nations.
