Stewartville, Annandale, Bladen Hall, Berbice High record victories 

Stewartville, Annandale, Bladen Hall, and Berbice High were the latest winners in the 2017/2018 (GCB/DMLAS/NSC/NSSCL) which continued with matches across the country.

Stewartville, at the Zeeburg Community Centre Ground, defeated Sarawat Secondary by two wickets.

Stewartville won the toss, elected to bowl and dismissed Sarawat for 72 off 19.5 of their allotted 30 overs with Beesham Singh top scoring with 19.

Bowling for Stewartville, Alex Ali grabbed 5 for 18.

In reply, Stewartville reached 73 for eight after Ali returned with the bat to take his side over the line with a score of 26.

If Stewartville’s victory was narrow, Annandale Secondary’s was lopsided as they hammered Buxton secondary by 100 runs.   Annandale Secondary, batting first, scored 170-5 with Ronaldo Fredericks scoring 58, Romel Dotterden, 37 and Vinod Sundar, 25, the principal scorers.

Keron Sutton grabbed 2 -16 for Buxton Secondary who were bundled out for 70 in reply as Vinod Sundar (7-12) ripped through the batting line up.

In another match, played at the Enterprise ground, Bladen Hall Secondary defeated Golden Grove by 36 runs.

Bladen Hall posted 136 for 8 with Vickram Narine top scoring with 40 as Shannor Norville grabbed 4 for 39.

Golden Grove Secondary, in reply, were dismissed for 100 in 21.4 of their allotted 25 overs as Roberto Thomas grabbed 6 for 7.

New Amsterdam Secondary completed a six-wicket win over Berbice High School who, batted first and were dismissed for 93 in 23.1 of their allotted 30 overs.

New Amsterdam Secondary in reply reached 94 for 4 in just 18.3 overs with Troy Sookraj top scoring with 39.
