There is a poem written by Sandra Haight named the ‘The Gift of Time’ which states “The giving of time is a special gift.”
During the finale of the ‘Nationals’ last Friday at the National Track and Field Centre, special gifts of timepieces were given to athletes from various districts . In the presence of Minister of Social Cohesion, Dr. George Norton and others, members of the Guyana Community of Service presented 90 watches to the student/athletes.
The act of benediction was lauded by the teachers, President of the GTU, Mark Lyte, the students and the Minister.
