The Arts Forum Inc will be hosting an exhibition titled ‘Ganga Ship, 1997: The Long Journey’ to commemorate the centenary of the formal end of Indian indentureship in 1917.
The exhibition opens at the National Library next Tuesday from 5 pm and continues up to April 1.
According to a press release, a mix of established and emerging artists living in Guyana and including Betsy Karim, Philbert Gajadhar, Michael Khan, Bernadette I Persaud, Brian Tankoon, Darshani Kistama and Ramroop Mahase are expected to showcase a limited sampling of their works.
The press release from the forum describes it as an independent platform which publishes ‘The Arts Journal’ founded and edited by Ameena Gafoor.
