Music talent search competition offers up-and-comers recording opportunity

House of Relatives Entertainment is inviting up and coming singers from Georgetown, Linden, Bartica and Berbice, to take part in its REMS Music Talent Search competition, for an opportunity to win cash and record their music.

The first round of competition begins at 12 pm today at the Pelican Inn on Hadfield Street.

According to organiser Michael Fraser, the competition will be held at two-week intervals, with the next one scheduled for May 12th at the L&L Club in Linden, followed by a round on May 27th in Bartica; and then June 9th in Berbice. The Bartica and Berbice locations are still to be announced.

The final round of the competition is set for June 23rd, and it will be held in Georgetown.

“Our Music Talent Search will be based on originality as we aim to inspire Guyana and the wider world with this transformation of life through music,” Fraser stated.

He related that the first place winner will walk away with $50,000 and the opportunity to record one song and one music video, while the second place winner will receive $30,000 and the chance the record two songs. The contestant to place third will win the opportunity to record two songs, and take away $20,000 in cash.

There is no fee to enter the competition.
