The Guyana Sugar Corporation is conducting investigations following a Saturday morning accident at the Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara estate, where the turbine-fuelled sugar cane shredder sped out of control, bursting the belt and ejecting the shredder blades.

Ramps Logistics embraces orphans with summer camp

Homestead identified for Venezuelans in Mabaruma – Felix

The Ministry of Citizen-ship and the Mayor and Town Council of Mabaruma have identified a plot of land in Mabaruma for the establishment of a homestead settlement area or humanitarian centre for the registered Venezuelans, who are occupying areas in Barima-Waini (Region One), according to the Minister Winston Felix.

Dear Editor,  Since Professor Clive Thomas made the proposal that a part of the oil revenue be used to pay cash transfers to each Guyanese household, and the WPA subsequently adopting the recommendation,  pointing out its potential transformative effects on the lives of the poor and powerless in the country, there have been a number of letters and articles expressing opinions for and against.

Court to rule next month on case against Nandlall over law reports

Magistrate Fabayo Azore is expected to rule next month on whether a prima facie case has been made out against former Attorney-General Anil Nandlall for the charge that he fraudulently converted over $2 million in law reports Nandlall, who is being prosecuted by the Special Organised Crime Unit (SOCU), is alleged to have fraudulently taken or converted 14 law reports, valued at $2,313,853 and property of the Ministry of Legal Affairs, to his own use and benefit between May 8th, 2015 and May 29th, 2015, at Georgetown.
