Better Hope taxi driver remanded on gun, ammo charges

A Better Hope taxi driver was yesterday remanded to prison on charges that he had possession of a firearm and matching ammunition.

The charge against Marvin Douglas states that on January 2nd, at Better Hope, East Coast Demerara, he had a 9mm pistol in his possession without being the holder of a firearm licence.

He was read another charge which alleged that on the same date he had seven live 9mm rounds and one spent shell in his possession.
