Accused thief was caught red-handed during break-in

Trevor Garraway

An accused thief, who police say was caught red-handed during a recent break-in, was yesterday remanded to prison on a charge of breaking and entering and larceny.

It is alleged that Trevor Garraway, 42, between January 18th and January 19th, at Hadfield Street, Georgetown, broke and entered the business place of Keron Peter and stole a Blu cellphone, valued $10,000.

Garraway pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared before a city court and stated that he did not steal the cellphone. He said someone else was responsible and the police were trying to pin the crime on him.

Police prosecutor Arvin Moore objected to bail, while noting that Garraway and another man were caught red-handed while breaking into the store.

Magistrate Judy Latchman subsequently adjourned the matter until February 8th and remanded Garraway to prison.
