A West Ruimveldt man was yesterday remanded to prison for the alleged possession of 704 grammes of cannabis.
The charge stated that Randy Grant on January 24th at West Ruimveldt had in his possession 704 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
Grant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor’s facts stated that on the said date the police conducted a raid at Grant’s residence in West Ruimveldt. While searching the front of the yard, a plastic bag was found concealed in a plant pot. The bag was opened in his presence, and leaves, seeds and stems, suspected to be cannabis were discovered. He admitted by saying “Red man is not my thing, I keeping it for somebody.”
City Magistrate Fabayo Azore refused bail and adjourned the matter until February 12th.
