Wismar taxi driver fatally stabbed after breaking into ex’s home

A Wismar taxi driver was fatally stabbed early yesterday morning by his ex-wife’s current partner after he “violently forced” his way into the woman’s Amelia’s Ward, Linden home, police have said.

Orlando Flatts, called ‘Orandy’ and ‘Rango,’ 24, of Blue Berry Hill, Wismar, Linden, was stabbed once to his abdomen.

A police statement said Flatts, who was armed with the piece of metal, violently forced his way into the apartment of his ex-wife and was stabbed once by the suspect, who now shares a relationship with the woman.

The suspect, a 22-year-old labourer, was also injured during the altercation, which occurred around 12.30 am at Lot 74 Amelia’s Ward, Linden.

The man, who received injuries to his left arm and hand, is currently in police custody.

Two weapons, the knife used in the stabbing and the piece of metal that Flatts was armed with, were retrieved at the scene.
