Alexander Village, Georgetown residents were once again flooded yesterday after continuous rainfall over the weekend.

Residents yesterday said that they are still awaiting the intervention of Minister of State Joseph Harmon, who had promised to help find a solution to the issue during a visit two weeks earlier.

At the commissioning two weeks ago of foot bridges in the village, residents highlighted the flooding woes they are affected by and called for assistance.

Harmon recently told Stabroek News that since the public outcry from the residents, he had asked for a team of engineers from the Ministry of Public Infrastructure and the Mayor and City Council to visit and assess the issue.

“The technical team has done the survey and I am now waiting on their report,” Harmon said. The minister in his promise to residents had said only when he has a report with recommendations would he be able to act accordingly.

Yesterday, when Stabroek News visited the community, the water in the drains had merged with the roads.
