A gold miner was arrested yesterday morning after he was allegedly found in possession of an unlicensed semi-automatic firearm and a quantity of matching ammunition.
The Guyana Police Force said that the 33-year-old Mabura Landing, Upper Demerara River resident was arrested around 9.45am yesterday at Seaballi Backdam, Upper Demerara River, after he was found with an unlicensed .380 semi-automatic pistol and 22 live matching rounds.
He is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.
