A fire last night destroyed the home of a No.45 village, Corentyne, Berbice family and four persons are said to be homeless.
The origin of the fire was unknown up to press time.
Stabroek News learnt that persons noticed the fire at the home sometime between 7.40 pm and 8 pm and immediately summoned the fire service.
By the time firefighters from the Corriverton Fire Station responded, this newspaper was told that the entire house had already been engulfed. However, firefighters managed to contain and put out the blaze.
At the time of the fire no one was home.
The house was occupied by Ganesh Boodhoo and his family while the owner of the property is resident overseas.
