D’Urban Street man remanded after raid of house uncovers ganja

A D’Urban Street man is now a remanded prisoner after being charged with the alleged possession of almost four pounds of ganja, which police say they found at his home.

The charge against Colin Wallace is that on April 18th, at Lot 4 D’Urban Street, he had 1.734 kg of cannabis, equivalent to 3.8 pounds, for the purpose of trafficking in his possession.

Wallace pleaded not guilty to the charge after he was arraigned in a city court.

The police allege that Wallace’s home was searched and in one of the bedrooms four clear plastic bags containing the cannabis were found. It is also alleged that Wallace, after being cautioned, told the police that he was keeping the cannabis for a man from Linden for the Linden Town Week.

Magistrate Leron Daly remanded the man to prison and adjourned the matter until May 18th.
