Eclipse Falls man dies after altercation with brother

A North West District man succumbed during the wee hours of Saturday from injuries he sustained from a reported fight with his brother after a night of consuming alcohol with the brother and friends.

The dead man has been identified as Clinton Henry, 34, while his brother, Gordon Henry, 30, both of Eclipse Falls Top, North West District sustained injuries and has gone into hiding.

Clinton Henry was taken to Port Kaituma Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Divisional Commander of ‘F’ Division, Kevin Adonis told Stabroek News that on Friday night the now deceased man along with his brother and friends were drinking in front of their mother’s residence.

He explained that after spending some time, the friends left and the Henry brothers were left consuming alcohol.  Sometime later, he said the brothers got into a misunderstanding resulting in a commotion.

It was at this time, the commander related that Clinton’s fiancée enquired what was happening and found him lying on the ground, after using the light from her cell phone.

The fiancée, he said, related to police that Clinton bore chop wounds to his hands, his body and a wound to his head.

The commander noted that the younger brother had two stab wounds to his chest and cuts on his hand.

The younger brother is being treated as a suspect, Adonis pointed out since he was the last person  seen in the company of his brother.
