Two men who allegedly received a stolen car were yesterday released on bail by a city court after denying the charge.
It is alleged that Mahadeo Lall, 30, and Munesh Persaud, 27, on March 30th, at Princes Street, Georgetown, received a $2.2 million Toyota Allion, which was the property of Anthony Pickett, from Earland Angus.
Both men pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Last week, Angus was charged with robbing Pickett of the car and
other items with the use of a firearm.
Police Prosecutor Arvin Moore told the court yesterday that Pickett discovered that after his car was stolen, it was taken to Persaud for works to be done on it. He later found out the car
was given to someone to work as a hire car.
Moore made no objections to bail being granted and Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman set bail at $200,000 for each man. The case was adjourned until June 4th.
