Golden Grove grocer, wife charged over marijuana

Acting on information received whilst on a mobile patrol in the Diamond, East Bank Demerara (EBD) community last night, police ranks commanded by a Gazetted Officer went to the home of Sherwin Alexander, 38, a grocer of 382 Golden Grove, EBD and conducted a search in the presence of his 44-year-old wife, Patricia Renee; during the process they found a parcel containing 134 grams of cannabis concealed inside of a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe.

According to a statement from the police, they have been jointly charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and will make their court appearance tomorrow at the Providence Magistrate’s Court.
