Three R Maye employees assisting with robbery investigation

A security guard of R. Maye Guyana International Inc and two other employees are in police custody assisting with investigations into a robbery which occurred on Sunday.

Commander Leslie James said yesterday that the three employees were taken into police custody on Monday.

Police said, on Sunday between 9:20 am and 10:00 am, at Lot 477 Plantation Providence, East Bank Demerara, the men who were armed with a gun and knife, carted off an undisclosed amount of cash from the company. 

Investigations disclosed that the men first confronted Orin James, the security guard who was on duty at the time.  The men held him at gunpoint and placed him on the ground, before using duct tape to bind his hands and feet.
