An unemployed man was found dead in his home village of Goed Bananen Land, East Canje Berbice this morning.
The man, Ramlall Bassant, 64, was discovered a few streets away from his house with his pants undone.
Stabroek News was told that the man, who was found facing upwards with his feet crossed, was also discovered with blood on parts of his body.
He reportedly left home on Thursday around 8.30 pm but his relatives were unclear how he ended up at the location where he was found.
However, residents said Bassant, who is a known alcoholic in the area, would often visit a friend who resides a short distance away from where he was found.
