Ten law enforcement officers from ‘F’ Division were on Saturday promoted on the spot by Police Commissioner Leslie James when he visited the division’s headquarters.
Those promoted are – to Sergeant: Corporal 21516 Tishan Rodrigues; to Corporal: Lance Corporal 20640 Ryan Craigen, Lance Corporal 21665 Keron Crandon, Detective Constable 21258 Dellon North, Woman Detective Constable 22540 Toni Bentley; to Lance Corporal: Detective Constable 20643 Phillip Bourne, Constable 18744 Andre Fung, Constable 23647 Jermaine Batson, Woman Detective Constable 23126 Ananda Harris and Constable 23784 Burt Burnette.
On the visit, a statement from the police force said that James was impressed with the ranks’ turnout and bearing and as a result he promoted them on the spot.
James, while addressing a gathering at the Bartica Community Centre Ground, spoke of the direction the Force is heading in respect of its reformation process, the police statement said.
A number of issues and concerns were raised in the packed auditorium by representatives from various sectors of society. All of the concerns were dealt with by the Top Cop and his Deputy Commissioners who were also on the visit, the release said.
