Man gets three years for defrauding car dealership

A known fraud accused was yesterday sentenced to 36 months in jail after being found guilty of defrauding an auto sales company of vehicles worth a total of $26.3 million.

Clayton Alleyne, 57, who was said to be the head of a loan company, was charged last year with obtaining from Jeetendra Ram, of Fantasy Auto Sales, six cars, valued $26,300,000, by virtue of a forged Republic Bank of Guyana cheque in favour of Fantasy Auto Sales.
