China yesterday handed over a cheque for US$86,000 ($18m) to the Ministry of Education (MoE) as part of a US$231,000 ($48.5m) grant to the Government of Guyana (GoG).
A release yesterday from the Ministry of Education said that the grant is being disbursed in three tranches. The first tranche to the tune of US$95,000 was disbursed to the Education Ministry earlier this year.
The handing over ceremony for the second tranche was held in the MoE, 26 Brickdam and was attended by officials from the Chinese Embassy and officials from the MoE.
