Accused in uncle’s murder freed

Nicholas Hercules

Nicholas Hercules, who was on trial before Justice Sandil Kissoon for the murder of his uncle, yesterday morning walked out of the High Court in George-town a free man after the judge upheld a no-case submission made by his attorneys.

The allegation against Hercules had been that on 1st April, 2015, at Princes Street, Lodge, George-town, he murdered Carlos Solomon.

During the trial, however, attorneys Hewley Griffith and Compton Bobb, who represented Hercules, presented submissions arguing that the state had not made out a case against their client and therefore he had none to answer.
