A city court yesterday granted bail to a mechanic and a mortician, who were charged jointly with the illegal possession of half a pound of cannabis.
David Lynch and Oslyn Richards were read a joint charge which alleged that on December 5th at Albouystown, they had 245 grammes (equivalent to half a pound) of cannabis in their possession for trafficking.
Both Lynch, 41, and Richards, 39, were not required to plead to the charge after it was read to them by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Police prosecutor Gordon Mansfield made no objection to bail being granted, while citing the fact that the narcotics were found in a washing machine in a yard under a stairway.
Bail was later set at $100,000 for each accused. They were also ordered to report to the Police Narcotics Branch at Eve Leary until the completion of their trial.
The matter was then adjourned until December 28th.
