Man gets bail after denying damaging pregnant woman’s car

A man was on Monday granted his release on $50,000 bail after he was charged with damaging a pregnant woman’s car.

It is alleged that Calvin Reese, 25, on November 5th, 2018, at Festival City, South Ruimveldt, damaged two mirrors and other parts of a car belonging to Alana Campbell.

The damage was estimated at $128,000.

Reese, who was represented by attorney James Bond, pleaded not guilty to the charge, which was read against him in Georgetown by Magistrate Fabayo Azore.

Bond told the court that there was no eyewitness to support the charge against his client.

However, attorney Keoma Griffith told the court that Reese threatened the lives of Campbell, who is now seven months pregnant, and her children. He then went on to say that Reese had been restrained from making any contact with his client.

Police Prosecutor Arvin Moore had no objections to bail being granted and Reese was asked to post $50,000 for his release. He was told to return to court on January 21st for his next hearing.
