Lusignan Prison search uncovers wine, weapons, phones

The prohibited items that were found at the Lusignan Prison.

Ranks of the Joint Services yesterday morning carried out a two-hour search at the Lusignan Prison, during which a number of prohibited items, including bottles of wine, were found.

The items were discovered in Holding Bays 1, 2 and 3. They include 44 improvised weapons, eight chargers, three bottles of wine, six lighters, three cell phones, one pack of bamboo rolling papers, two cell phone batteries, 11 razor blades and 20 nails.

This search is the most recent of a series conducted at the various prison facilities across the country, where contraband items continue to be discovered.
