P&P Insurance Brokers & Consultants on Friday held its annual presentation ceremony, at which monetary donations were presented to 12 organisations.

The presentations were made at the company’s office on Lamaha Street, Georgetown.

The Bless the Children Home, Canaan Children’s Home, Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre, Uncle Eddie’s Home, Friends of the Archer’s Home, the Dharm Shala, the David Rose School for the Handicapped, Cheshire Homes Guyana, Hauraruni Girls’ Home, Bright Horizon Family Home, the Tina Insanally Foundation and the Bal Nivas Shelter all received monetary donations of $125,000 each.

According to the company’s Executive Director Vikash Panday, the donations have been a company tradition for about six years. Panday also noted that in the past they had given regular donations of $100,000 to 10 organisations.

Panday related that this year two new organisations—the Tina Insanally Foundation and the Bal Nivas Shelter—were added to the list of beneficiaries. The insurance company has also increased the value of their donations to $125,000 per organisation.

Panday told the representatives of the organisations, “We hope that you will use all this money prudently and the real beneficiaries of these donations are the persons you serve and help. We are aware of the many challenges you face in trying to discharge your responsibility and we hope these cheques will be of some help to you”.

The donations are just a small part of the company’s community outreach programme.
