Two more testify in Daby attempted murder PI

Maryann Daby

The preliminary inquiry into the attempted murder charge against 25-year-old Maryann Daby is set to continue on January 21st 2019.

The charge against Daby of Lot 127 D’Aguiar Park, Houston, alleges that on May 13, at Albert Street and Thomas Lands, Georgetown, with intent to commit murder, she discharged a loaded firearm at Constable 24785 Christopher Kissoon.

When the matter was called yesterday before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly, the prosecution brought two witnesses to give evidence. Police Inspector Gordon Mansfield was called upon to give evidence and was cross-examined by Daby’s attorney Mark Waldron.

Assistant Superintendent Kevin Das was called upon to lead his evidence but cross-examination was deferred until the next court date.

It has been alleged that Constable Kissoon was at the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club when he heard gunshots. The constable made checks on what was taking place and saw the accused. Kissoon went to speak to her, she became annoyed, allegedly pointed the gun to his head and squeezed the trigger. The weapon however did not go off.
