Tempe lorry driver dies in Airy Hall accident

A Tempe Village, West Coast Berbice (WCB) lorry driver died yesterday morning after he was involved in an accident along the Airy Hall, Mahaicony public road.

Dead is Travis Isaac, 39, of Lot 238 Tempe Village. According to information gathered, Isaac was driving motor lorry GWW 6018 east along the northern side of the Mahaicony public road at around 1am yesterday. While navigating a turn, he reportedly lost control of the vehicle, toppled and ended up in a nearby trench.

Stabroek News was told that the truck contained sand at the time of the incident.

Isaac, along with two other occupants of the lorry, Akeem McPherson, 20, of Lot 620 Plantation Ross, WCB, and Kurtis Elliot, 20, of Lot 49 Plantation Ross, were rushed to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital where Isaac was pronounced dead on arrival. The two other males were treated and sent home. Isaac was described as a caring family person.

The police have launched an investigation.
