Enterprise Garden man winner of GTT’s BMW giveaway

Enterprise Gardens resident Noel Fernandes, on Friday emerged the winner of a BMW X1 vehicle, at the end of a competition held by GTT.

According to a release from the telephone company, Fernandes dominated in both aspects of the two-part competition, garnering quadruple the votes in the first leg, which allowed the public to vote in support of the finalists.

The second leg of the competition, held Friday at the Stabroek Market Square, required the finalists to compete in a series of obstacle challenges, which included a cake eating competition, ‘Dunk that Junk’, balloon blow up, a question and answer segment on GTT’s Plus Sized promotion and a sing off battle.

Fernandes, emerging the victor, won not only the BMW, but also a year’s worth of super 95 gas from Guyoil and free insurance coverage for a year.

 “I feel very deserving. I placed my best foot forward and this is the reward I am reaping now. I am just thankful to GTT for affording me such an opportunity and I promise to take good care of the vehicle and drive responsibly,” Fernandes reportedly said following his win.

$150,000. The third place winner was Shinella Charles, touted as a crowd favourite, who won the $100,000 prize. In third place was Shameer Rahamut, who took home $50,000. GTT’s Senior Marketing Executive and Event Coordinator, Tashandra Inniss, reportedly credited the competition as being one of the most successful events to be hosted by the company. “We have managed to meet our targets while still supporting our customers. We are extremely happy about the outcome and we cannot wait for the next big thing,” she stated.    According to Marketing and Sales Manager at Guyoil, Jacqueline James, the aim of the partnership between the two companies was to make the winner’s life more relaxed for a year. “Guyoil is always about giving back to its customers, not only its corporate customers but our residential customers as well. We look forward to doing more joint partnership with GTT in the future,” James said.

The competition was judged by media personality, Gordon Moseley, GTT’s Brand Ambassadors, Poonam Singh and Drew Thoven, and GTT’s Director of Small and Medium Enterprise (SME), Devi Sukdeo. The release said that External Auditors from TSD Lal and Co Chartered Accountants were also present to ensure impartiality in the judging process.
