Chinese national latest murder victim in T&T

(Trinidad Express) A fourth killing has happened in less than 24 hours.

The latest murder is the shooting of a Chinese national at his supermarket in Diego Martin.

Dead is Franklin Wong who was shot this afternoon at St Lucien Road, Diego Martin.

The 39-year-old proprietor, who lives at the location, was attacked at around 11.15a.m.

The two criminals who stormed the place took the cash register and left.

Wong was shot once in the chest. He died while being treated at hospital. The cash registered was recovered about 200 metres from the scene, empty.

Earlier on Monday, a taxi driver was gunned down in Diego Martin this morning.

Andy Bailey was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man with gunshot injuries was taken to hospital. The shooting occurred at around 8.35 a.m. when two men in a white Nissan Tiida opened fire.

A Green Hill, Diego martin on Sunday night a man was shot dead, and two others injured after gunmen opened fire at a liming spot.

Shaquille Nichols, 22, of Green Hill, Diego Martin, was shot multiple times and died at the scene.

Two other men sustained gunshot injuries and are warded at hospital.

One of the injured is the son of a police sergeant, officers said.

The shooting happed at around 7 p.m. at liming spot called “The Rat Hole” at Quarry Street.

Two men armed with guns opened fire at a group of limers, then ran off.

A 21-year-old pregnant woman who fell while trying to run away from the gunfire was also injured.

She was said to have sustained an injury to her ankle.

They were taken to hospital where Nichols was pronounced dead.

And in Arima, a 30-year-old man was shot dead.

Residents at Righteous Lane, Pinto Road, heard several explosions at around 11 p.m.

Police officers were contacted, and officers found the body of Derrick Lumpress on the street.

Autopsies are expected to be performed at the Forensic Sciences Centre.
