Trinidad police raid nets brand new weapons, marijuana

The Weapons

This is what police have found in central Trinidad.

Officers raided at house at Monroe Road, Cunupia before daybreak on Friday.

Two people were arrested.

Police found ten rifles, sub machine guns, and compressed marijuana.

It is believed that the weapons, all new, came from Venezuela.

The Caroni and the Cunupia rivers allow for fishing boats carrying smuggled items to moved unimpeded and undetected from the Gulf of Paria and deep inland.
