Trinidad: Teen among three charged with cop’s murder

(Trinidad Guardian) A 17-year-old boy is among three peo­ple who have been charged with the mur­der of PC Krys­ton Ramirez.

They will be ap­pear­ing in the Ari­ma Mag­is­trates’ Court this  morn­ing, the same day when Ramirez’s mil­i­tary fu­ner­al will be tak­ing place.

The men who have been charged along with the teenag­er have been iden­ti­fied as Mar­vin Madoo and Alex Sumir.

Charges were laid on Thurs­day evening by Sgt Lunch of Homi­cide Re­gion 2.

Po­lice said two of the three sus­pects were ar­rest­ed dur­ing an Op­er­a­tion Strike Back ex­er­cise in the Cara­po and Pey­tonville ar­eas be­tween De­cem­ber 17 and De­cem­ber 18.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 2.30 pm on De­cem­ber 16 two masked men en­tered Classy Bar along the Cara­po Main Road, Ari­ma and one of the sus­pects point­ed a gun at Ramirez and opened fire on him. Ramirez was as­signed to the Guard and Emer­gency Branch.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
