A 16-year-old was one of two persons charged in a city court yesterday over two attacks in which the victims were robbed of their phones.

The first charge alleged that Randy Bowen, 20, and the 16-year-old on March 16th, 2018, at Irving Street, Georgetown, in the company of others, robbed Julian De Luz of an Alcatel cellphone, valued $24,000.

It was further alleged that on the same date at Irving Street, they robbed Royston Beveney of a Blu cellphone, valued $20,000.

The prosecutor stated that De Luz was standing on Irving Street awaiting transportation when the accused approached him and demanded the cellphone. A report was made at the Kitty Police Station and Bowen was subsequently pointed out by the complainant. He was searched and de Luz’s cellphone was found on his person.

Both accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor made no objections to bail being granted and Magistrate Judy Latchman granted the accused $100,000 bail for each charge.
