Is the Maths interactive radio programme being used in our schools?

Dear Editor,

The primary school system has a programme designated IRI, or Interactive Radio Instruction with regard to Mathematics curricula implementation for Grades 1-3.

The Commission of Inquiry (CoI) headed by Mr Ed Caesar in its report to the Ministry of Education, recommended that teachers be trained in utilization of this programme, which consists of a  radio/CD component and a post audio section.

If this programme is being utilized in our schools, will the Minister of Education say to what extent the CoI’s recommendations with respect to IRI have been recognized and implemented?

Yours faithfully,
Krishna Nand Prasad
