No government since Burnham has demonstrated a nationalist mindset

Dear Editor,

Those ministers of government who attempt to lecture the citizens of this country on the virtues of ‘nationalism’, should ensure their brains are engaged before they put their mouths into gear. Never since the days of Forbes Burnham, has either political regime ‒ PPP/C or APNU+AFC – demonstrated in any meaningful way, a nationalist mindset or carried out policies that could be deemed nationalist.

Nationalists do not allow the so-called ABC countries to meddle in every sphere of their country’s political and economic affairs. They do not give away the national patrimony to foreign capital, and call it ‘investment’ and ‘development’.

Real nationalists jealously and zealously protect the sovereignty and dignity of their country and all its citizens, and fight for economic freedom and true independence.

It is time for PPP/C and APNU+AFC to move aside and let the true revolutionary nationalists do what has to be done.

Yours faithfully,
