We congratulate him

Dear Editor,

All of us who support the rights of students in Guyana (and elsewhere) to be taught in their mother tongue, and all of us  who have studied and have some understanding of creole languages and their importance to their native speakers, are heartened that Mr. Sean Ori has come to an understanding and appreciation of our argument.

Moreover, we congratulate him on having the courage to state this publicly. This is welcome, especially in light of the continuing efforts to deny Creolese its rightful place as a language.

Yours faithfully,

Alim Hosein
