Dear Editor,
Your editorial on the tenth anniversary of David’s death was spot on. David de Caires was a great editor – I know as I pushed the envelope daily in My ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’ column. He published them without demur and the blue pencil only appeared once to my recollection in hundreds of iterations. Even when he did not understand the ‘jokes’, he printed them.
David was also great company at social events, however tense they became.
Guyana and the SN misses David. So do I.
