Albouystown needs major infrastructural upgrades

Dear Editor,

Albouystown residents are really suffering. I am referring to the eastern section from Hunter Street leading to Callender Street. There is no proper access out of Albouystown, we are just boxed in. The road leading from Sussex Street through the cemetery to Louisa Row we the residents would be very happy if someone in authority (Ministry of Public Infrastructure)  made that road accessible during the day and also at night, just like Cemetery Road with lights and sidewalk.

For us to get transportation out of the area we have to go all the way back into West Ruimveldt by crossing a dilapidated bridge and a muddy short cut or Castello Housing Scheme.

This has been going on for decades, also Sussex Street we want that road widened with sidewalk, cycle lane and the two trenches palled off.

It is time we get upliftment in our area that would lead to a progressive nation. One section of the cemetery is being maintained on a regular basis, the other section which is parallel to Albouystown is a forest.

Yours faithfully,

O Stephens
