Two drivers suffered minor injuries after colliding at the intersection of Camp Street and Brickdam yesterday morning where the traffic lights were not working.
A Toyota Carina 192, PHH 1573, was travelling north when it attempted to cross Brickdam while HC 5364, was travelling east along Brickdam attempting to cross Camp Street. Neither driver yielded.
Following the impact, the Toyota Carina spun out of control and ended partly on the pave, meters away from the traffic lights, while the taxi stopped several feet from the point of impact.
Eyewitnesses related that both vehicles were travelling at a fast rate and at the time of the accident the traffic lights were not working.
Traffic ranks from the Guyana Police Force responded and assisted the driver of the taxi to push his vehicle off of the road since it was not operable, while the other car was left on the side of the road.
