Three men were arrested by police in ‘A’ Division (Georgetown) yesterday afternoon with two unlicensed pistols, nineteen live rounds and a pair of “paste-on” number plates in their possession.
Police last night said that around 5 pm, ranks, acting on intelligence, intercepted a vehicle with a hire car registration number, HC 5573, on Princes and High streets.
A search of the vehicle uncovered the illegal items. The driver of the car, who is a resident of South Sophia, and the two other occupants, who are from South Amelia’s Ward and West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, were subsequently arrested. They are currently at the Ruimveldt Police Station. They are expected to face charges later this week.
