Sachin Singh (48, 2-10), Navindra Persaud (44) and Zakary Jodha 4-13 helped the East Bank Cricket Association (EBCA) blow away East Coast Cricket Association (EBCA) XI by 23 runs on the opening day of the Demerara Cricket Board Under-17 Inter Association Tournament at Everest Cricket Club ground on Monday.
Reduced to a 32-overs-a-side contest due to rain, EBCA won the toss and batted. Openers, Singh and Persaud hammered the wayward East Coast bowlers adding 98 runs before Hemnauth Dindyal had Singh caught at cover attempting a big hit.
East Bank began to lose their way as Yeudister Persaud (02), Mahindra Dindyal (03) and Bryan Bowen fell in quick succession mainly due to poor running between the wickets.
