Brickdam Secondary in last-gasp win

The Forbes Burnham Foundation Easter term windball cricket continued at the National Gymnasium with wins for Brickdam Secondary and Sophia Special School.

In their match against debutants Jos-el Educational Institute, Brickdam secondary narrowly won off the last ball.

Jos-El Educational Institute posted 75-2 with Denzel Forde stroking 55. In reply Brickdam lost three wickets in the fourth over as Joel Gilles bagged 3-21 but Kareem Whitney smashed a boundary of Jose Small’s final delivery to see them home and move to 40.

Meanwhile, Sophia Special School were set 75 to win against Saint Barnabas School but only needed 3.2 overs as Omar Vaughn smashed 10 sixes  in his unbeaten 73.

St. John’s College overcame Mercy Wings Vocational Center by seven wickets. Mercy Wings posted 93-3 in their debut match as Amari Kendall top scored with 40. In reply Yohance Angoy blasted 52 runs to see his side home.

East Ruimveldt Secondary were also successful in their chase of 55 against Queenstown while Tucville made light work of St. Winefride’s Secondary who batted first and posted 65. Tucville raced to 70-2 with Dwayne Jones top scoring with 39.

Bishops’ High became the only team on the day to record a victory batting first after been invited to bat. Bishops’ romped to 130-2 from their allotted six overs with Koulasir Sudan clobbering 71 which included nine sixes.

In reply, Valimiki Vidyalaya High were restricted to 93-4. Rahul Singh top scored with 45.
