Fruta Conquerors Football Club in partnership with Titans Table Tennis Club, staged a seminar on Sunday at the Guyana National Red Cross Head Quarters, Eve Leary.
The forum which was attended by 15 participants from both clubs, targeted coaches, team managers and parents.
It was chaired Fruta Conquerors secretary Daniel Thomas and was facilitated by Attorney-at-Law Juanita Allen and Orette Francois, Senior Probation and Social Services Officer of the Ministry of Social Protection.
According to a release from the Tucville club, “The workshop looked at a number of critical issues with regards to the abuse of children, the Childcare Act, the Do’s and Don’ts for dealing with children among a number of critical and important areas.
“A number of documents were prepared, including a Child Protection Risk Assessment Table, and a Child Protection Policy. After the workshop all coaches and team mangers signed a Child Protection Declaration Form and a Code of Conduct for Working with Children,” the correspondence added.
