MSC, GYO earn first innings points over GCC and GNIC respectively

Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC), batting a second time, ended day one of their Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/GISE/Star Party Rental/Trophy Stall first-division, two-day encounter against the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) on seven without loss, earning a lead of 85 at Bourda.

MSC, batting first, were dismissed for 199 in 68 overs with skipper Kellon Carmichael top scoring with 58 while opener Nkosie Barker stroked 55.

Leon Johnson led GCC’s bowling effort, grabbing 5-25 while left-arm spinner Devon Lord supported with 4 – 113.

GCC, surrendered first innings after being bundled out for 121 in 30 overs with openers Robin Bacchus (36) and Winston Forester (28) the only men to contribute substantial scores.

They also added 63 runs for the opening stand.

Off-spinner Steven Jacobs led the way with 5-41 while Vishal Narayan (4-34) was equally effective.

MSC with a lead of 78, ended the day seven without loss.

Meanwhile, GYO, also batting a second time on day one, ended on 9-1 in their encounter against GNIC over at MSC.

GYO were dismissed for 141 in 45.6 overs in their first innings with Kishan Singh (28) and Treatlan Liverpool (27) leading the way.

Off-spinner Gajanand Suknanand finishing with outstanding figures of 6 – 39.

GNIC, in their first innings had little answers for Trevon France who took 7 – 46 as they were dismissed for 139.

Jason George (43) and Quincy Ovid Richardson (33) were the main contributors.
