Jacobs, Suknanand spin MSC and GNIC to commanding wins

Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) and GNIC recorded wins in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/GISE/Star Party Rental/Trophy Stall, first-division, two-day competition, yesterday.

Over at GCC,  Bourda, MSC defeated the hosts by 113 runs in their low-scoring affair.

MSC,  resuming the final day on 7-1 and with a lead of 85, were bundled out for 102 earning an overall lead of 180.

Carlos Larose (24) was the only batsman to post a substantive score as West Indies under – 19 seamer Ronaldo Ali – Mohammed collected 4-20, three of which he took in one over while skipper Devon Lord (4-31) aided his efforts.

The hosts were then bundled out for 67 in their second innings in 28 overs pursuing 181 for victory with off-spinner Steven Jacobs picking up 5-25 to end with match figures of 10 – 61 handing his side a 113-run win.

Meanwhile, over at MSC, GNIC defeated GYO by five wickets.

GYO resumed the day on 9-1 and were dismissed for 131, earning a lead of 134 with Trevon Liverpool scoring 56.

Gajanand Suknanand was the pick of the bowlers once again, bagging 6-46 to end with a match haul of 12-85 for GNIC who then romped home to 135 – 3 to complete their seven-wicket win.

Ovid Richardson led the way with an unbeaten 58 while Ryan Shun supported with 56.
