Diamond, Sunday, defeated Better hope by five wickets in the Supply Premier League T20 tapeball competition at the Diamond Tarmac.
Better Hope, batting first, were bowled out for 185 in 18.5 overs with R. Premchand, 39, (34 of which came in boundaries) Munesh Persaud, 35, and Sachin Singh, 32. There were 30 extras.
Fiaz Azeez, who missed out on a hat trick, was the pick of the bowlers finishing with figures of 3-27 while Anthony Antonio chipped in with two.
In reply, Diamond reached 189-5, with Azeem Azeez hitting five sixes in a knock of 48. He was supported by Rahim Abdool, who hammered three six and two fours in an unbeaten 40 while Antonio chipped in with 26 from 10 balls.
Once again extras added 30 runs to Diamond’s total.
Singh picked up 3-23.
