Four more teams qualify for Guinness `Greatest of the Streets

Uprising, Mahaica Determinators, Mahaica Guinness Bar and Police secured the four remaining berths in the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ East Coast Demerara zone, following qualifying victories Sunday at the Haslington Tarmac.

Uprising defeated Victoria Hardball and Belfield Warriors. In their opening match, Uprising edged Victoria Hardball 2-1 on penalty kicks after the match ended scoreless at the end of regulation time.

The youthful unit then dismissed Belfield Warriors 3-0 in their second match. David Wilson scored in the third minute while Phillip Williams netted a ‘Guinness Goal’ (GG) [Goal scored in the final three minutes counts as two] in the seventh minute.

Mahaica Determinators downed Bad-a-Road 2-1 on penalty kicks following a scoreless regulation time finish while Mahaica Guinness Bar needled Young Jiggers 1-0, after normal time finished 0-0.

Also, Police-B gained a walkover from Golden City. The tournament will kick-off  tomorrow at the same venue with the elimination round.
