Milerock hands defending champs GDF first defeat of Elite League

Milerock created the biggest upset to date in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Elite League edging defending champion Guyana Defence Force (GDF) 1-0 on Sunday at the Camp Ayanganna ground.

Randy Jerome secured the unlikely win for the Lindeners converting from the penalty mark in the 48th minute. With the win, Milerock moves to six points and into seventh position.

It was the first loss for the army unit, who remain on 14 points and in third position.

Meanwhile, Buxton United downed New Amsterdam (NA) United 2-0. Defender Deshane Garnett bagged a double in the seventh and 69th minute.

Buxton now has 10 points and remain in sixth place with NA United in ninth place on three points.
